Job Summary

Alliance Inspection Management (AiM) is the premier new and pre-owned vehicle inspection partnership in North America that combines breakthrough technology with deep industry experience to provide a trustworthy, independent bridge between buyers and sellers. We offer a comprehensive range of vehicle inspection services to verify the condition of new, off-lease and fleet vehicles and other properties at vehicle assembly plants, rail yards, ports, customers’ homes, dealers and auctions 

Due to its success and excellent service, AiM is rapidly growing and its Operations Division now seeks a Regional Director that will lead and manage AiM’s operations and workforce in the southeast region of the United States. The Regional Director will be one of six U.S. regional directors that report directly to the Vice President of Regional Operations and ensures that their particular region’s vehicle inspectors meet quality, production, organizational development, safety, operational excellence, cost and productivity objectives. In doing so, the Regional Director will manage and help develop AiM’s vehicle inspectors located across numerous states in the southeast region of the U.S., some of which work at fixed facilities such as car auction sites or ports of entry, and some of which are dispatched on a daily basis to different locations throughout the region.

The successful candidate will be capable of managing multiple complex priorities simultaneously with a “hands on” style and be expected to exemplify true change leadership in developing his/her team and delivery of annual operating goals/metrics.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. -Responsible for managing the regional operations and workforce to obtain the goals and objectives set by the company.
  2. -Directs and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development to AiM’s vehicle inspectors; interviews and selects area supervisors/inspectors; plans and evaluates employee performance; recommends merit increases, transfers and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates.
  3. -Collaborates with the company’s VP of Operations to design, develop and apply aggressive process improvement strategies to increase inspector productivity and efficiency, while continuously improving quality and brand image.
  4. -Monitors inspection performance within the assigned objectives and follows-up on any problem locations, process breakdowns, or problem vehicles.Has ultimate responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is inspected in accordance with contractual obligation and that on-time vehicle inspections are done for all units that arrive at various locations in order to assess vehicle condition.
  5. -Manages the vehicle inspection and employee headcount in relation to workload.
  6. -In conjunction with the company’s recruiting specialist(s) and Area Managers within the region, finds, develops and maintains a quality workforce that produces efficient and quality results.Categorizes all inspection processes into groups enabling area supervisors to assign tasks and measure performance of staff against targets.
  7. -May be required at times to meet with and engage in meetings with customers to discuss performance, quality and any other operational processes. Must be professional and possess strong communication skills.
  8. -As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
  9. -Light to frequent travel (about 20-40%).
  10. -Regular and consistent availability and attendance.

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.

  1. -Job Knowledge and Skill: Comprehensive knowledge of inspection/remarketing process preferred.
  2. -Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive professional experience in a related field.
  3. -Supervisory Experience: Five or more years in a managerial role, providing strategy, vision and direction. Activities of subordinates varied considerably in objective and content and encompassed more than one discipline.
  4. -Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Consider equivalent related college or technical courses, seminars, industry related experience.
  5. -Computer Skills: Working knowledge of power point, word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, ability to adapt to new technology as it becomes available.
  6. -Communication Skills:Ability to excel in a team environment required. Must be able to successfully interface with sales/marketing, customer service, logistics, IT, product development and quality departmentsAnalytical Skills:Strong analytical skills required with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to source, disseminate and properly apply secondary research
