Title: Auto Damage Field Inspector

Reports to: Area Manager

 I. Summary

This is an exciting, challenging and highly visible position.  The AiM Auto Damage Field Inspector conducts mobile, used vehicle inspections within a designated geographical area. The field inspector will perform a variety of different inspections ranging from off‐lease vehicles at a lessee’s home or business to major damage vehicles on behalf of an insurance provider.  The field inspector will also be cross-trained to perform dealer floor plan audits on behalf of automobile finance companies.

The field inspector must maintain high ethical/company standards and policies when conducting inspections and audits on behalf of AiM. All field inspectors are provided with a company vehicle, equipped with GPS technology, subject to satisfactorily meeting all AiM standards/requirements upon being offered a position.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Vehicle inspections – The field inspector drives to locations such as homes, offices, and other fixed sites to perform used vehicle inspections. A field inspector must accurately assess vehicle condition, estimate value of required repairs (using damage estimating software), document findings in a condition report, and transmit completed reports after each inspection.
  • Dealer Floor Plan Audits –The field inspectors will be cross-trained to perform dealer floor plan audits based on geographical area and need. The field inspectors will be responsible for a physical count of vehicles, in addition to an audit of dealer’s records including the sale, disposition and proceeds of the vehicles in question. The field inspectors will be responsible for reconciling dealer and AiM customer physical counts, and in some cases, facilitating payment from dealer to the finance company.

 

  • Performance Expectations – Document and record vehicle damages, utilizing proprietary inspection and damage estimating software with laptop computer and digital camera. The field inspectors will be expected to electronically report status of his/ her assignments during the day using AiM’s proprietary scheduling and routing software in order to maintain high productivity each work day.
  • Customer Engagement The field inspectors will be the front line in regards to face-to-face interaction with AiM’s clients including their dealers and lessees. This position will require an increased level of customer service skills combined with a heightened sense of professionalism.
  • Other – Perform additional duties as required by the Company. Make continuous recommendations to improve quality and efficiency.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities 

On occasion, field inspectors may be asked to train new hire field inspectors and supervise group dealer audits.

V. Qualifications

Education  

  • High school or GED equivalent required
  • Some college level courses and/or technical courses (particularly in the automotive industry) preferred, but not necessary.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of consistent, full-time work experience
  • General knowledge of automotive components preferred. AiM will train the ideal candidate.
  • Automotive Estimating/ Repair a plus
  • Experience working independently or with limited supervision

I. Summary

Conducts quality assurance/transportation vehicle inspection activities at designated locations. Performs uniform, consistent inspections on newly manufactured vehicles. Maintains and adheres to company standards for all inspections, using hand held scanning device, writing implement, and other required equipment and supplies. Ensures timely transmission of inspection results on a daily basis.

II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

New Vehicle inspections

  • Performs new vehicle inspections from various car manufacturers for minor/ major impact damages, vandalism, factory defects, restraint failure damages, accidents, weather related damages and damages incurred during the transportation process.
  • Document and code damages as they are found and provide damage verification codes for trucking companies prior to the vehicles being delivered to the car dealerships.
  • Able to complete inspections in demanding outdoor environments and fast paced, multi-organization facilities.
  • Responsible for quality of inspections, consistency of standards, performance of data transmission, and timeliness of inspections.
  • Ability to interpret and make analytical inspection decisions based on a defined set of guidelines applied to new vehicles. Inspections may occur on the grounds, or on board rail cars.
  • Damage Reports
  • Documents and records vehicle damages, utilizing a handheld computer and digital camera. Ability to identify physical auto damage; assist in conducting root-cause analysis of transportation related damage. Renders routine oral and written reports of inspection results as required. Human Resources Generalist

AiM is rapidly growing, and seeks a Human Resource Generalist to support its workforce with an emphasis on those in the IT and Dispatch departments located in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

The HR Generalist will be the sole human resource representative working out of the Farmington Hills, but will be part of the Human Resource Department and report directly to the Director of Human Resources at AiM’s headquarters in Long Beach, California.  Accordingly, it will be necessary that the HR Generalist be responsible for professionally performing all HR-related duties in AiM’s Farmington Hills office including, but not limited to: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, IT recruitment/onboarding, employee retention, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. In conjunction, the generalist will remotely assist the Director of Human Resources and IT Manager with a variety of tasks.

A successful candidate will be well versed and experienced in General HR matters, and will be able to: interact and communicate well with employees, manage multiple matters concurrently, and effectively act with minimal supervision while communicating and consulting with the HR Director.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.

Experience:

1.         Job Knowledge and Skill Broad understanding of issues and rules related to human resource and responsibilities; specifically applied in a technology/IT driven workforce.

– Five or more years of comprehensive professional experience as a human resources representative in an IT setting.

– Experience with recruiting and retaining IT personnel required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not necessary

4.      Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other PC applications, ability to adapt to new technology as it becomes available; working knowledge of Ultimate Software preferred but not necessary

5.      Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate and counsel well with others both in person and remotely.

Auto Damage Auction Inspector

Title : Auto Damage Auction Inspector
Reports to : Auction Facility Lead or Auction Facility Manager
Salary: $12-15.00/hour (dependent upon experience) *

I. Summary
On a daily basis, an Auto Damage Auction Inspector performs multiple inspections on used vehicles at a fixed auction site. The auction inspector is assigned to a single site, whereat he/she focuses on detecting damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues on vehicles being sold at the auction site. Inspections are performed in compliance with the client’s inspection routine and guidelines. All inspections are performed using a mobile device equipped with proprietary inspection software.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Used vehicle Inspection• Perform a thorough and accurate inspection of each vehicle’s condition.
    • Identify all damage, missing parts and mechanical problems while performing an inspection of the interior, exterior, trunk area, engine compartment and undercarriage of the vehicle.
    • Inspector must make objective decisions based on a defined set of inspection guidelines.
    • All findings will be recorded in a mobile device using proprietary inspection software. Other tools to be used include digital camera, tread depth measuring gauge, etc.
    • Inspections will take place outdoors at a large auction facility.
    • Regular Attendance and Availability is mandatory.

    Other- Perform other related duties as requested including but not limited to locating and moving vehicles.
