Alliance Inspection Management’s (AiM) core business is to provide its North American business partners with a comprehensive range of new and used car inspections that verify the condition of new, off-lease and fleet vehicles at key times throughout their lifecycle. Timely, accurate, consistent inspection reports are crucial to managing new and used fleet inventories over the entire life of every vehicle.
AiM is at the forefront of technology breakthroughs that are revolutionizing the vehicle inspection industry. Its web-based scheduling and logistics systems are integrated with a customer call center to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction. AiM’s field-based inspectors are equipped with Panasonic© Toughbook© tablet computers and 3G cellular capabilities that cut time from the inspection process and reduce costs. AiM inspectors are employees who use customized software to ensure vehicles and other properties are inspected to a single standard, regardless of location. We use digital imaging, electronic signature capabilities, and real-time, detailed reporting and assignment tracking software to provide our clients with data analysis and reduce their reliance on outdated paper-based systems.
Since its founding in 2005, AiM has expanded its automotive services to include claims management, consulting, and audit and compliance services. AiM conducted more than 10-million vehicle surveys in 2007 and that number will increase this year.

AiM is at the forefront of a rapidly changing environment for used car inspections that allows it to service the traditional “brick and mortar” auction houses that are the industry’s mainstay for disposing off-lease and other fleet vehicles and also provide state-of-the-art electronic inspections for the newer, web-based auction enterprises.
In a world of online vehicle transactions, AiM’s electronic inspection report in effect, becomes the electronic equivalent of the actual vehicle, making the report more important than ever. Regardless of the disposal method…traditional auction or online transaction…buyers rely on AiM’s consistent, accurate and complete vehicle inspection reports to make their purchasing decisions. AiM inspectors use customized software to ensure vehicles are inspected to a single standard, regardless of location. We use digital imaging, electronic signature capabilities, and real-time, detailed reporting and assignment tracking software to provide clients with data analysis and reduce their reliance on outdated paper-based systems. By incorporating the latest technology, AiM’s field force of more than 450 inspectors is perfectly positioned to service the emerging online marketplaces with its technology, customer service and national footprint of trained employees.
End-of-Lease Inspections
Individual end-of-lease used vehicle inspections are a growing part of AiM’s overall business. Regardless of where the inspection takes place…at the lessee’s home or business, the leasing dealership or any other third party location, AiM’s standardized inspections guarantee consistent and accurate reports that meet the needs of both buyers and sellers, with the independence to bridge the sometimes conflicting requirements of both parties.
Repair Verification/Insurance Estimates/Buybacks/Custom Studies
AiM’s used car inspections can also provide repair verification, insurance estimates, validate “Lemon Law” buybacks, and even provide the data for recall studies and/or custom studies based on a client’s unique specifications.
Pricing Models
In addition to traditional used car inspections, AiM is the only North American vehicle inspection company to conduct pricing models that take into account the original MSRP, a depreciation curve and a vehicle’s condition to accurately determine a used car’s value. These models provide leasing companies, banks and other clients with essential information to maximize the performance of their valuable vehicle portfolios.
New car buyers and lessees expect to take possession of their new vehicle in pristine condition. However, the road from the factory floor to the showroom floor is fraught with opportunities for vehicle damage, both large and small. AiM provides all stakeholders…automotive manufacturers, marine carriers, port operators, rail and truck transporters, marshalling yard operators, dealers, insurance companies and ultimately, the vehicle end user…with the opportunity for a detailed inspection report at every stage of a new vehicle’s journey to its first owner. As an independent, third party provider, AiM inspectors conduct standardized inspections that guarantee consistent and accurate reports that document a vehicle’s condition.
Damage Prevention Studies
AiM inspectors also are qualified to conduct special “cause and effect” studies that go beyond individual vehicle inspections to help identify problem areas in the transportation process that result in vehicle damage. These studies closely examine processes at any point in the transportation chain to determine how and when persistent damage occurs and recommend prevention measures.
Damage Identification/Classification
AiM also conducts DIT (damage in transit) and MDR (major damage report) inspections to classify vehicles according to a range of disposition categories. These categories determine if a repaired vehicle is sold as new or used or if it is beyond repair and must be destroyed. In the case of irreparable vehicles, AiM inspectors also are available to serve as “destruction witnesses” to collect verification data as required by law. DIT/MDR reports are crucial to the timely quantification and analysis of damage resulting from catastrophic events such as rail or marine accidents, hail storms, flooding, tornadoes and other natural disasters that damage large numbers of vehicles in a single incident.
Repair Verification/Insurance Estimates/Buybacks/Custom Studies
AiM’s new car inspections can also provide repair verification, insurance estimates, validate “Lemon Law” buybacks, and even provide the data for recall studies and/or custom studies based on a client’s unique specifications.
Collectively, AiM’s management team boasts more than a century of experience in key fields such as remarketing, vehicle inspections, fleet management, transportation, information technology and fleet portfolio performance. AiM is the only industry company with an OEM financial perspective that utilizes the vehicle inspection process as a means to manage fleet costs.
